Print data for full-tone printing
For our screen printing, we require vectorized graphic files. Typically, these are *.ai, *.eps, *.svg, or *.pdf files.
Unlike pixel graphics, vector data is based on descriptions of images, meaning they are not composed of individual small pixels, but rather geometrically defined basic elements. These elements can consist of lines, curves, circles, or polygons, which, when combined, form complex graphics.
These primitives require only a few specifications. For example, for a circle, this would be the position of the center and its radius. As a result, a vector file can be scaled up without any loss of quality and can be easily separated into individual colors, which is advantageous for screen printing.
Print data for the 4-color set (CMYK)
Unlike screen printing, digital and 4-color process printing allows us to work with pixel graphics, such as standard image files like *.jpg, *.png, or *.tiff.
Unlike vector graphics, these images are based on individual points called pixels, arranged in a grid, each assigned a color value. This type of graphic is defined by its dimensions in terms of height and width in pixels, known as resolution, as well as the range of colors it can display, referred to as color depth. Therefore, a sufficiently high resolution is necessary for a good print result.
IMPORTANT: If the graphic includes elements that need to be printed in specific spot colors, such as a company logo, we require these elements as vector graphics again so we can print them in the desired colors.
